Parts of Speech

• বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত প্রত্যেকটি শব্দ বা word কে parts of speech বলে।

Parts of speech আট প্রকার­- (1) Noun (2) Pronoun (3) Adjective (4) Verb (5) Adverb (6) Preposition (7) Conjunction (8) Interjection.

Noun

• কোনো ব্যক্তি, বস্তু, স্থান বা ক্রিয়ার নামকে Noun বলে। Karim, Dhaka, Man, flower, planet, class, team, iron, water, wisdom, honesty, meghna, The army, beauty, gold, kindness, friendship, happiness, sadness, virtue, illness ইত্যাদি।

Pronoun

• Noun এর পরিবর্তে যে  word ব্যবহৃত হয় তাকে Pronoun বলে। যেমন-  I, we, he, she, it, they, you, this, that, those, these, such, who, whom, whose, which, what, that, all, each, every, everything, any, some, somebody, everybody, none, nobody, nothing, neither, either, himself, myself, each other, one another.

Adjective

• যে শব্দ noun বা pronoun এর দোষ, গুন, অবস্থা, সংখ্যা, পরিমাণ ইত্যাদি প্রকাশ করে তাকে Adjective বলে। যেমন- Big, honest, some, little, much, few, many, about, this, that, those, each, every, either, my, his, your ইত্যাদি।

Verb

•  যে  word দ্বারা করা, খাওয়া, মারা, ধরা প্রভৃতি কোনো কাজ করা বুঝায় তাকে Verb বলে। যেমন-eat, see, catch, walk, am, is, are, play, sing, run, come ইত্যাদি।

Adverb

•  যে কোনো parts of speech কে modify করে তাকে Adverb  বলে। যেমন- slowly, very, just, certainly, twice, daily, already, deeply, indeed, soon, late, early, quickly, quite ইত্যাদি।

Preposition

• যে সব শব্দ noun বা pronoun এর পূর্বে বসে তার সাথে অন্যান্য শব্দের সম্পর্ক দেখিয়ে দেয় তাকে Preposition বলে। যেমন- at, above, across, against, after, before, beside, between, by, for, to, into, on, of, with, by, in, under ইত্যাদি।

Conjunction

•  যে  word একাধিক word বা sentence তে সংযুক্ত করে তাকে Conjunction বলে। যেমন। and, but, or, yet, as, if, both, though. although, because, lest, till, until, so, either---or, neither---nor, unless ইত্যাদি।

Interjection

•  যে সব শব্দ মনের আকস্মিক আবেগ, অনুভূতি প্রকাশ করে তাকে Interjection বলে। যেমন- Alass!, Hurrah!, Haha!, oh!, Bravo!, Fie!,Wow! ইত্যাদি।

17.  Rimu is not a beautiful girl. 
18.  You should get up early.  
19.  You should not neglect your studies. 
20.  They do not play football in the field.  
21.  I did not know him. 
22.  Is the earth round.  
23.  The boy is shameless. 
24.  The farmers of Bangladesh are industrious.  
25.  The teacher of this school teaches well. 
26.  Mother reads the Quran daily.  
27.  The Pacific Ocean is very deep. 
28.  Narayanganj stands on the Shitalakshma.  
29.  Rumi and Sumi have three pens. 
30.  You have heard the name of poet Nazrul.  
31.  I was not going to school. 
32.  You had entered the class room before the bell rang.  
33.  We started after the rain had stopped. 
34.  The rich are not always happy.  
35.  He has lost all his wealth. 
36.  The first boy has stood third this time.  
37.  These mangoes are sweet. 
38.  He is always busy.  
39.  I have told you twice. 
40.  The news has been collected locally.  
41.  He works hard so that he can succeed.
